
Cod in Sour Cream Sauce
great way to cook cod.
Serves 2
1.5 lbs cod fillet
1 carrot
1 onion
6 tablespoons vegetable (sunflower) oil
4 oz water
6 oz sour cream
2 tablespoons flour
One-half teaspoon salt

Cut the cod into 6-8 equal pieces.

Pour the flour into a medium bowl and add the salt. Mix well.
Pour the oil into a frying pan and place on the stove.
Roll each piece of fish in the flour mixture.

Transfer to the frying pan with the heated oil.

Cook for 5 minutes on each side.

Remove the fish with a slotted spatula and transfer to a plate.

Grate the carrot; dice the onions into small cubes.
Put the vegetables into the same frying pan where the fish was cooking.

Cook the vegetables for 5-8 minutes stirring periodically.

Add the sour cream to the vegetables.

Add the water.
Stir well and bring the sauce to a boil.

Return the fish to the pan with the sauce.


Cover it with the sauce and continue cooking for 1-2 minutes.

Take off the stove and cover.

Serve in 10-15 minutes.
