Baked Burgers
Take out of the oven and serve immediately with any side dish or sauce.
Serves: 2-4
1 lb mixed ground meat (beef and pork)
1 onion
1 egg
Half teaspoon salt
One-third ground black pepper
2 slices white bread
1 tablespoon vegetable (sunflower) oil
Cover the bread slices with cold water and leave for 10 minutes.
Squeeze the water out. You can do it by placing the bread into a colander and squeezing it with your hand.
Peel the onion and cut into a few parts.
Use the blender to puree the onion.
Add the bread to the blender and pulse to mix.
Place the ground meat into a bowl.
Pour in the onion and bread mixture.
Add the egg.
Sprinkle with the salt.
Add the black pepper.
Make sure to mix all the ingredients well.
The texture of the meat would benefit from pounding: scoop up the meat mixture with your hand and throw against the bottom of the bowl. Repeat a few times.
After pounding, the ground meat will be much more uniform. The burgers made this way keep their shape much better and have a more delicate taste.
Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal parts.
Oil the baking sheet.
Wet your hands and shape oval burgers from the meat mixture.
Transfer to the baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven (400F) for 10-15 minutes.
Take out of the oven and serve immediately with any side dish or sauce.
